Sherry's storytelling is rhythmic and melodic, animated and exuberant, enlivened by a multiplicity of voices and sounds. No matter the age of the listener, Sherry's storytelling is vivid and enticing, compelling listeners to look through the kaleidoscope of story into the landscape of imagination.

Sherry Norfolk is recognized by the Urban Libraries Council, the National Association of Counties, the American Library Association, and the Florida Library Association as an innovative and creative library programmer. She has been a professional storyteller since 1981, telling in libraries, schools, museums and festivals all over the United States. Her library background led her to storytelling as an effective means of motivating children to read, and her elementary education background influenced her style -- full of rhythm and motion, multiple voices and opportunities for audience participation.

These stories could come from anywhere in the world! Sherry draws from a repertoire of beautifully-crafted folktales from six continents in this fast-paced interactive romp. The stories highlight the people, animals, habitats and customs of diverse cultures, allowing listeners the opportunity to recognize the ways in which we are all alike, and appreciate and celebrate our differences.

It Takes a Thief!
Who stole the stars from the sky? The soup from Tiger's soup-pot? The veggies from the Dancing Granny's garden? The diamond button from the Little Rooster? Hear about these dastardly deeds and their doers in fun-filled, participatory world folktales for all ages!

The RIDDLER!
Listen for the clues and solve these riddle stories from around the world! For school-age or family audiences, this program challenges the brain and intrigues the imagination!

Clueless!
Some people just don't have a clue…or DO they? Stories of fools and their seeming foolishness abound in folktales. Tailored for preschool, elementary or family audiences as needed.

Here there be Dragons (and Ogres, and witches...)
A magical journey into the imagination with stories of wizards and witches and dragons and ogres, heroes and heroines and wise fools and foolish wise men. There's never a dull moment as first Bobby, then Sherry, then both tellers take the stage to bring these medieval tales of daring deeds and misdeeds to life! This program features a wide variety of folktales, fairy tales, myths, legends and literary stories that are just plain FUN!

Animated, participatory storytelling programs fire the imagination and provide stimulating language experiences to engage students of all ages. Tellin' Tales...Workshops are fast, fun, and highly interactive sessions for K-2nd grade students. Engage the whole brain as children learn and re-tell a folktale in their own words, create a new group story and using curriculum-oriented information, and use creative dramatics to act it out.
