Tell’n’Tales Tell’n’tales is a fast-paced, participatory workshop which employs multiple learning modes such as verbal response, physical response, singing, dancing and problem-solving to facilitate successful learning and telling of tales. Children learn and re-tell a folktale in their own words, enhancing oral language, sequencing and conceptualization skills. Grades: preK - 2

Tale-abration! Family Workshop Storytelling games and activities for the whole family demonstrate ways to have fun together while strengthening important literacy skills! Parents learn how and why these activities impact cognitive development and emergent literacy – and they observe their kids’ engagement in these literacy activities. Kids develop vocabulary, critical thinking, problem-solving, predict-and-infer, cause-and-effect, and narrative skills as they laugh and play. Lots to Tale-abrate!
Building Blocks of Literacy Parent Workshop Parents will explore relevant early-childhood research and its practical applications, engaging in demonstrations and discussions that put theory into practice. This fun-filled, fast-paced, hands-on workshop will bring out the natural storyteller in each person as they discover creative and effective ways to use voice, body language, gestures and facial expression to bring stories to life effectively for young listeners.
